LTC Edwin LEIDELMEIJER

As military innovator Ltcol Edwin Leidelmeijer started up in 2016 Fieldlab Smart Base. A research and development (living lab) environment in which he tries to find solutions for base related problems together with industries and universities. As a spin-off of this Fieldlab, he is now running more than over 50 R&D projects for the Army with a team of 15 persons.
Ltcol Edwin Leidelmeijer started at the military academy in 1982 as a military engineer and fulfilled several jobs as a combat engineer and construction engineer. In his previous post as commander of the military engineering centre of expertise he experienced the technological development pace and creativity of the industry and universities. He is a true believer of “open” innovation and believes that in close cooperation with industry and universities, armed forces will have the needed technological advantage to stay ahead and ready for the future.
