Mr. Pierre POITRAS
Mr. Poitras have been employed by the Canadian Department of National Defence for more than thirty four years. He has performed the role of Fuels and Lubricants Senior Technical Authority for the Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Army for more than twenty-two years. Mr. Poitras has extensive expertise in chemical and physical testing of tactical fluids such as aviation turbine fuels, lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids and other related products such as alternative fuels. He is responsible for product specifications, policy and procedures to ensure product quality and provides field support in regards of these products.
Mr. Poitras is an active participant of international technical committees. He represents Canada as the Head of Delegation and Chairman of the NATO Fuels and Lubricants Working Group and the Five Eyes Air Force Interoperability Council (AFIC) Fuels Group. He is also the Chairman of the Canadian Government Standards Board (CGSB) Aviation Fuels Committee and the Canadian Standard Association (CSA) CSA B-836 governing the Storage, Handling and Dispensing of Aviation Fuels at Aerodromes. He participate in the American Standards Testing Material (ASTM) D-02 Petroleum Committees, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Technical Fuels Group and the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE Aerospace).
