Dr. Ulf Ehlert
Ulf Ehlert studied mechanical engineering and obtained a PhD in aeronautical engineering under a scholarship of the German Environmental Foundation. For over ten years, he worked at the German Aerospace Centre and focused his research on smart, adaptive structures for aeronautical applications.
In 2005, he joined NATO’s Research & Technology Organisation to support the Applied Vehicle Technology Panel. Moving to NATO HQ in 2007, he reinforced the coordination between NATO’s armaments and Science & Technology communities. Since 2012, he is working for the newly created NATO Science & Technology Organisation in various functions, including the development of NATO’s Science & Technology Strategy and Priorities. He currently serves as the Secretary of the NATO Science & Technology Board.
